OUI Spell Checker

OUI comes equipped with a spell checker that can be used to check the messages you compose for spelling errors. The Spell checker has been improved to include an Options button. The Options button gives you access to handy functions like removing words entered into your Private dictionary. It also features a new Change All button which allows you to correct all identically misspelled words with one mouse click.

Running the Spell Checker
You can activate the Spell Checker by clicking on the ABC button (or Other|Spell Check) in the Compose dialog box. If you wish to have OUI automatically spell check your messages before you send them, go into the Environment Settings dialog box and enable the Check spelling automatically before sending option. Then, when you click on the Send button to save and send your message, the Spell Checker will automatically be launched and spell check your message.

When the Spell Checker is launched, it will search the message text using the parameters defined. Any unrecognized words will be presented to you. To skip the selected word, click on Ignore. To skip the word throughout the message, click on Ignore All. You can also click on Add to add the word to the Private dictionary, or type the correct spelling of the word into the Change To field and click on Change.

Multi-language dictionaries
The OUI Spell Checker currently supports the following three main dictionaries: US English, UK English, and German. The US English version of OUI is shipped with the US dictionary; the German version is shipped with the German dictionary. If you would like to use a dictionary that was not included with your copy of OUI, all three dictionaries can be downloaded from the OUISoft website on the registered users' download page. To switch between dictionaries, go to the Environment Settings window (Configuration|Environment) and click on the Dictionary button. Any dictionary file you have in the main OUI directory will be listed.

Custom Dictionaries
In addition to the main dictionaries, you may create multiple custom dictionaries to which you can add customized words. You can add custom dictionaries by clicking on Options from the Spell Check dialog box, then click on Add and type a name for the custom dictionary. Be sure to select the appropriate custom dictionary from the Add Words To drop-down list so that customized words added during the Spell Checkers current session will be placed in the correct dictionary.
